The aim of the CRP team is to develop an integrative model of bacterial genetic regulation, using a phytopathogenic bacterium as a model. Rapid and precise expression of genes in response to intracellular or environmental signals is based on complex and robust genetic programs. Their execution requires a fine modulation of RNA and protein synthesis and degradation. The team focuses on the relation between the structure and dynamics of the chromosome (spatial organization, DNA topology, distribution of nucleoid-associated proteins) and genetic regulation.

Three axes are developed :

Our methodologies involve a variety of approaches integrated in a multiscale framework, including molecular genetics, transcriptomics, in vivo and in vitro imagery, and biophysical and computational modeling. The bioinformatics projects of the team are developed within the bioinfo@insa-lyon group.
